It's important that you are a regular reader of The Walking Mombie prior to pitching your guest post to me. Once you receive an email confirmation from me with your approval, the 2nd step is filling out The Walking Mombie Guest Post Submission Form below which includes your contact info, links, your uploaded final copy of your post (or you can copy and paste it in the field). Please make sure to include your author bio within the same document as your post.

We encourage you to include links to your own work and we also ask that you link internally to our posts when appropriate. We reserve the right to add internal links as we see fit.

Linking

Posts may not include marketing-related links and must not be entirely self-promotional (this is frowned upon by readers). Instead, convince our readers why they're making the right choice by choosing your company, blog, or website, rather than focusing mainly on promotion. This applies to the author bio as well.

*Affiliate links are not allowed unless you have emailed us to discuss and are approved to do so.

List Form

Lists must be practical and scannable. Lists are always a plus because readers love them! (numbering or bullet points)

All images submitted must be properly attributed credited. You can attach your picture as a separate file in the submission form.

We require author bios to accompany all submissions. Headshots are recommend but are not required.

  • Author bios should be short and contain no more than 75 words.

  • Please place your bio at the end of your post.

  • You are allowed up to two links in your bio. We highly suggest taking advantage of linking to more than just your website. Use this opportunity to provide our readers with links to your social media platforms.

  • As stated before, please try to avoid overly promotional author bios.

  • We will write our introduction at the beginning of the post which includes a link to your website/blog.

Important Last Requirement

In order to verify that you have thoroughly read our Guest Post Requirements Guide in its entirety, please add "Purple Monkey Dishwasher" to the very top of your submission. Submissions that fail to add this, will not be reviewed, deleted immediately, and you will not be notified in this case.

We reserve the right to edit your post as needed for example, (to make the title more search-engine friendly) and to reject posts that, in our opinion, do not meet our quality standards or don't provide value to our readers.

Please do not submit press releases or sales pitches via the guest post submission form—this isn't the place for these submission types. Any press releases or sales pitches submitted through the guest post submission form will be discarded immediately. Press releases and sales should be directed to our media page.

Please understand that we need to completely read your post first (including the author bio) before we can decide to publish your guest post or not. We ask for your patience, as this process may take up to a week to receive an answer on whether or not your submission will be published on our blog. In either case, you will receive a response back from us.

If you feel that you can meet out requirements for guest posting, please proceed by filling out our guest post submission form, attaching/copy & paste your post and author bio, uploading your images, and electronically signing, dating & accepting our terms.
