Awesome Freebies! Start the Pumpkin Man Family Tradition This Halloween!

Halloween is right around the corner and you may be considering creating a special Halloween treat for your little ones. These special Halloween treats can be as simple as a treat bag or box filled with candy, stickers, or even toy and crafts.

Every Halloween season I create a little spooktacular Halloween treat for my son, but instead of it coming from my husband and I—it comes from the Pumpkin Man! This was a tradition that my mother created when I was a little girl and since it was something that I absolutely loved as a child, I decided to carry on the tradition.

What is the Pumpkin Man Tradition?

Sometime during the month of October (usually a week or two prior to Halloween), the Pumpkin Man pays a visit to your home and leaves a real pumpkin (any carvable size), a card, some sort of special candy treat, a letter , and sign at your front door.

The letter explains to your child who the Pumpkin Man is, why he left them a special gift, and instructions for the items he's brought them. The letter from the Pumpkin Man states that the child needs to carve their pumpkin (with an adult) and put it by the front door to help guide trick-or-treater's to their house on Halloween. They also need to place their Pumpkin Man sign on the front door or window to let everyone know they were visited by the Pumpkin Man.

It may not seem like much, but I guarantee that your little one will get an absolute kick out of it!

I like doing this a couple weeks prior to Halloween, so this fun experience doesn't get drowned out by trick-or-treating, candy, and other Halloween festivities going on.

My son is now three and once October comes around, everyday he checks outside the front door to see if the Pumpkin Man has made his visit. It gives him something to look forward to and I of course, love seeing the excitement in his eyes!

When the Pumpkin Man finally shows up, my son starts jumping around and screaming "Pumpkin Man came mama!" and that just makes my day!
